I need a pair of rings for a 10" OD tube. I know of Vixen/Orion rings, but they don't offer such a size. Also Parrallax seems to be a great company which offers the size I'd like, but the rings are a bit heavier than I'm looking for. Is there an alternate? A compromise?

Jason,

On 10" and larger OTAs, I resorted to building my own for the odd diameter tubes I ended up with. The rotating ring cradles I've build ended up far more stable than I would have guessed and are lighter than the commercial aluminum and SS versions I've had in the past. I'd try a CAD of the basic design, but I wouldn't know where to start with that. Instead, I'll try and remember to take some photos tomorrow and post them.

Gary

There's also Antares and Parks. I think the Parks are pretty heavy too, IIRC.
