The peak of the meteor shower isn't until Monday/Tuesday night but last night as I was driving up the hill to my house, I saw a large fireball streak down the sky. It only lasted for a brief moment but it reminded me about the meteor shower. When I got home, Justine and I spent a while outside and saw a few impressive ones. Not as many as I thought we'd see given how dark it was out but it was still very nice. Hoping the weather cooperates (remnants of Tropical Storm Gil may interfere) because I'm sure the next few days will be spectactar without the moon being too much of an issue.

I have my fingers crossed but so far doesn't look too good here, we have been having thunder showers the last couple of days

Sorry to hear about the weather, Liz- hope it gets better by tomorrow night.

It was clear again here last night and we saw a few more, including another bright one that straked across the sky and lit everything up for a brief moment. I think we would have seen a lot more if we'd stayed up later. Looking forward to the peak tomorrow and Tuesday night!
