I'm a bit late with this but did anyone catch the Geminids? I got home late from work one night at the peak (Dec 10, IIRC) and saw about a dozen pretty impressive streaks along with a few dimmer ones. Dark skies are nice!

Then we had some friends over for stargazing a couple of weeks ago and had a good time. There were some intermittent clouds rolling through but we got some good views through the 16" of several showpiece objects like the Double Cluster, M31, M33, Pleiades, M42 etc before calling it a night. I think our friends were most impressed with how the roof rolls off on my observatory! But it's always nice to expose people to astronomy.

Anyone else doing any observing as of late?

None! But I'm happy to read of your recent observing. Prepare the tiny violin....lots of overtime at work, and lots of clouds on the days I've been fortunate to actually have off. Too bad, really, because it's been about 20°F above average this month. I have two weeks off from work for the holiday so I'm hoping to get some time in with the 10" and binoviewer.

I laughed about the roll off roof comment. At least something will leave a lasting impression.

Thanks Jason. Hope you get an observing break from all that work soon.

Ha! Thanks. I just had a week off between the holidays. Nuthin' but clouds. Some things just never work out. Haha. Sigh...
