If observing is the question, then the answer is yes.

So, my daughters joined me as the night progressed, all of us appreciating the incredible transparency that a notable cold snap brought to the northeast. I haven't seen a clear sky like this, without a moon no less, in a long time. It was nice to set up the 12" dob. Man I love that scope, and I can't believe I haven't used it in over two years. It's nice to be done with school, LOL.

Despite the fact that seeing was in the toilet, Jupiter had moments of clarity that allowed us to see Ganymede casting its shadow across the planet early, approximately one hour after sunset.

The best part of the night was the mid 40 degree temps. Cold equals "no bugs". That is my favorite aspect of the seasonal change for astro observing.

How did I miss this thread! Beautiful pics and nice night sky.

Have you observed Mars lately? I’ve got it on my list since it’s that time.

Thanks dude! I have not done Mars yet. Tried recently a couple times with no success. Seeing has been in the toilet in New England.
