Went completely vegan about 6 months ago and began counting calories. I’m always pretty active but has a habit of eating lots of cashews, chocolate, and other high calorie foods. Since I’ve started counting calories and keeping it under 1800 per day, I’ve taken off about 15 lbs. I probably want to get down to 165 and then I can figure out how many calories to simply maintain that weight. At 6’ tall, I think it’s about where I should be and feel best about myself. The app Fat Secret has been great at helping me accurately count calories.

Nice effort Erik! Excellent results! I'm about 5% above where I want to be regarding body fat. Thank you for the inspiration to help me kick my ass into overdrive! LOL

I also feel that calorie counting apps are invaluable. I've been using one for several years, and only find consistent success when I'm in the groove of using it daily. I'm a fat lard right now. Actually, I'm not really that bad. But finally saw good definition in my abs last summer. That was 7 lbs ago. I'm 70" and 175. I'd really like to stay around 175, but loose those 7 lbs of fat and replace it with the good stuff.

It's amazing how good nuts are for you. But yeah, super calorie laden. Hiking must be progressively easier for you as the weight sheds.

Thanks Jason; yeah I feel great and it’s amazing what a few pounds can do. I do miss the nuts though! Still gotta do sone chocolate but I just factor it in with my calories.

Yeah I remember your progress last year; that inspired me at the time! Doesn’t sound like you have far to go with just a few pounds. I’m in the same boat.
